The Mayor also has various other duties in relation to culture and tourism, including a responsibility for the city and its government.

My Political Vision

Healthcare

Diane has been part of the collaboration towards the growth to Chilliwack General Hospital Emergency ward, and the opening of the Health Contact Centre. She continues to promote strong healthcare and collaborations between healthcare professionals and community partners.

Jobs and the Economy

Diane has a strong focus on fiscal responsibility and enhanced job opportunities. Her vision involves sustainable social services programs that provide long-term employment opportunities for all. Her education specializes in business planning, marketing, and governance advice.

Social Issues

As an active community supporter, Diane is committed to making the lives of Chilliwack residents better. Social issues such as homelessness, youth addiction, and housing affordability are important to her vision towards a thriving Chilliwack.

Public Service

Diane has had a long history in public service, ranging from serving as a City Councillor for the City of Chilliwack, to serving as chairs on several local city committees that promote positive changes and improvements in public transit and city development.

Education

Diane has served as a School Trustee from 2002 to 2008 and during this time served as Chair of the Board from 2003 to 2006 for the School District of Chilliwack. She has a strong focus on academic achievement and during this time has assisted the Board in establishing a number of schools of choice.

Volunteering

Over the last 20 years, Diane has committed to volunteering in over two dozen committees and boards of directors in Chilliwack, all serving the city in areas of education, public service, healthcare, transportation, and city development. She has also tirelessly dedicated hundreds of volunteer hours towards local fundraising and charity events to enhance services to the community.
